“A very traditional cuisine in a place born thank to the idea of two friends”. This is how the two partners Francesco Piacentino and Giuseppe Scippa, love to tell about Guarracino Restaurant in Casamicciola, for the fifth year by the sea in a fantastic setting offered by the island of Ischia. Few simple concepts, clear ideas brought to the kitchen and then to the table: “Good oil, tomato, garlic, local products and double menu: one for lunch and the other for dinner”. While there are more classic and light dishes at lunch, a simple spaghetti with fresh tomatoes or lobster (strictly from the area), the tables count will be halved in the evening (the seats will change to 40) and the atmosphere will change. The menu includes four starters, first and second courses, plus the classic and unfailing raw, with the highlight represented by the sea cicada tartare and the Catalan crustaceans (lobster and crayfish). The products arrive directly from the sea, with a fisherman delivering the catch of the day just before lunch. “The menus are linked to what the sea offers us – explain Francesco and Giuseppe – and we can offer dishes only linked to the catch of the day”. To reach the Guarracino it is possible to pass through the Castiglione thermal park or to arrive by sea, thanks to the private pier of the restaurant. Then, the inimitable atmosphere offered by that glimpse of the sea guides the customers to discover the true flavors of Ischia, accompanied by many bubbles (about forty labels, with particular attention to Franciacorta and Champagne) and the many wines of the island and Campania region.
